Saipan

サイパン！もう１5年以上も前になりますがサイパンに行きました。直のフライトなら数時間でつける所ですが、お金を節約したかったのでグアム経由で乗り継ぎを合わせると半日くらいかけていきました。

It’s been more than 15 years since I went to Saipan. It won’t take long to get this place but I wanted to save money
so I got a cheaper flight via Guam spent half day to get here.

グアムとは違いこじんまりしている島ですがその分自然も多くワイルドマンの僕にはぴったりの場所です！

海外でレンタカーを借りることが多いです。サイパンでもレンタカーを借り好きなように島を回りました。
Saipan is not as large as Guam but they have a lot of wild nature and that fits me, a wild-man.
I often rent a car when I travel abroad and this time I did it, too to hang around.

サイパンは日本人観光客も多く本当に自然豊かで素晴らしい海があります。ですがその一方戦争での悲劇がありました。車を運転していると道沿いに戦時中の戦車の残骸や軍の跡地の痕跡が所々に残っています。

There have been many Japanese tourist and they are attracted by the beautiful sea and nature. However, we must
not forget the tragedy of World War Ⅱ on this island. While I was driving, I saw some ruins and remains left after
the war.

又数多くの日本人が自らの命を絶った断崖絶壁、通称Suicide Cliff　を訪れた時には本当に胸が痛みました。

I  couldn’t find the words how I describe when I stood on the cliff called ” Suicide Cliff” where a lot of Japanese
people jump into the sea to kill themselves.
